Dr Mark Jackson matriculated from Bishops Diocesan College in Cape Town. After completing a year of military service, he moved to Johannesburg to study dentistry at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits).
Following graduation, Dr Jackson spent a year in Australia, where he practised dentistry in Queensland and Victoria. He then returned to South Africa and established a dental practice in Parkview, Johannesburg. He practised as a general dentist for 13 years before returning to Wits to complete a three-year full- time specialist degree in orthodontics.
Dr Jackson has been in specialist orthodontic practice in Parkview since 1996, where he continues to practise today. In addition to the Parkview practice, he has branch practices in Midrand and in the Western Cape (Vredenburg).
He served on the honorary teaching staff at the Wits Dental School for over 25 years, contributing extensively to undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Outside of orthodontics, Dr Jackson’s interests include aviation (building and flying aircraft), knifemaking, woodworking, and information technology. He has four adult children and is the proud grandfather of two grandchildren.
